Pay Scale:

• UGC pay scale of ₹57,700/- to ₹1,82,400/- with other allowances as per Assam Government rules.

Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit:

• 38 years as of 01.01.2024, with relaxations as follows:
  
• 5 years for SC/ST candidates
  
• 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates
  
• 10 years for PWD candidates

Educational Qualification:

• Good academic record as defined by the concerned university, with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in the relevant subject at the Master’s Degree level from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
  
• Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC, CSIR, or similar tests accredited by UGC like SLET/SET.
  
• Ph.D. holders (in accordance with UGC regulations) are exempt from the NET/SLET/SET requirement.
  
• 5% relaxation in marks at the graduate and master’s level for candidates from SC/ST/Differently-abled (physically and visually) categories for eligibility purposes.
  
• The period of time taken to acquire M.Phil and/or Ph.D. Degree will not be considered as teaching/research experience for the appointment.

PRC Requirement:

• Candidates must have a Permanent Residential Certificate (PRC) and knowledge of the local language.
