Sainik School Admission 2025
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification for the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2025. This examination is for admission to Class VI and Class IX in 33 Sainik Schools across India for the academic year 2025-2026.
Sainik Schools are English-medium, residential institutions affiliated with CBSE and managed by the Sainik Schools Society under the Ministry of Defence. They prepare students to join prestigious defence academies like the National Defence Academy (NDA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and other officer training institutions.

Eligibility Criteria for Sainik School Admission
For Class VI:
- Age: 10 to 12 years as on 31st March 2025 (Born between 1st April 2013 and 31st March 2015).
- Admission for Girls: Open for Class VI.
For Class IX:
- Age: 13 to 15 years as on 31st March 2025 (Born between 1st April 2010 and 31st March 2012).
- Admission for Girls: Open for Class IX, subject to availability of vacancies.
- Must have passed Class VIII from a recognized school at the time of admission.
Examination Fee for AISSEE 2025
Candidates must pay the following application fees, which can only be paid through online mode:

Scheme of AISSEE 2025
The All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2025 will be conducted in a paper-pencil format, using OMR answer sheets for admission to Class VI and Class IX. The exam will feature Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Qualifying Marks for AISSEE 2025
- A candidate must secure a minimum of 25% marks in each subject and 40% aggregate marks across all subjects to be eligible for admission to Sainik Schools.
- Admissions will be based on e-counselling, the merit list of AISSEE 2025, medical fitness, and document verification.
Special Provisions for SC/ST Candidates:
- There is no minimum marks requirement for candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories. They will be admitted based on merit within their category, subject to eligibility, medical fitness, and document verification.
- If an SC/ST/OBC(NCL) candidate qualifies in the general merit list, they will be admitted under the general category, and will not be adjusted against the reserved seats for SC/ST/OBC(NCL).
