The Territorial Army has issued an official notification for the recruitment of 209 Soldier positions, including Soldier (Clerk), Soldier (GD), and Soldier (Tradesman) posts under the 166 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) (Home and Hearth) Assam.
Interested and eligible candidates are invited to appear for the recruitment rally as per the schedule mentioned below.

The Territorial Army has announced recruitment for 209 Soldier posts under the 166 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) (Home and Hearth) Assam. Below are the details:
1. Soldier (GD)
- No. of Posts: 165
- Educational Qualification:
- Class 10th pass with at least 45% aggregate and 33% in each subject.
2. Soldier (Clerk)
- No. of Posts: 4
- Educational Qualification:
- House Keeper & Mess Keeper: Class 8th pass with at least 33% in each subject.
- Other Trades: Class 10th pass with at least 33% in each subject.
3. Soldier (Tradesman)
- No. of Posts: 40
- Trades:
- Hair Dresser
- Chef
- Cook Mess
- Chef Special
- Equipment Repairer
- Artisan Wood Work
- Artisan Metallurgy
- House Keeper
- Washerman
- Masalchi
- Steward
- Educational Qualification:
- 12th pass (any stream) with 60% aggregate and at least 50% in each subject.
- Mandatory: 50% in English and Maths/Accounts/Book Keeping in Class 12th.
Other Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit:
- Candidates must be between 18 to 42 years of age.
- Physical Standards:
- Height: Minimum 160 cm (157 cm for candidates from Eastern states and hill regions of West Bengal, e.g., Darjeeling & Kalimpong).
- Weight: Minimum 50 kg.
- Chest: 82 cm (77 cm unexpanded).
Selection Process
The selection process for Territorial Army recruitment involves the following stages:
A. Physical Fitness Tests:
- 1 Mile Run
- Pull-Ups
- Balance
- 9 Feet Ditch
- Trade Test (for Tradesman candidates)
B. Medical Test

Documents Required for the Recruitment Rally:
Candidates must bring original documents along with two photocopies of each of the following:
- Birth Certificate issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths or 10th Class Board Certificate showing Date of Birth.
- Education Certificates with Mark Sheets, including Board certificate in original.
- Domicile Certificate with photograph issued by the Tehsildar or District Magistrate.
- 20 Copies of Passport Size Photographs (good quality, coloured).
- PAN Card and Aadhar Card.
- Caste/Tribe/Community Certificate with a photograph of the candidate, issued by the Tehsildar/Sub Divisional Magistrate/District Magistrate.
- Religion Certificate (if not mentioned in the caste certificate, issued by the Tehsildar/SDM).
- Character Certificate with photograph, issued by Village Sarpanch/Municipal Corporation/SHO/Head of Educational Institute within the last six months.
- Married/Unmarried Certificate, issued by Village Sarpanch/Municipal Corporation within the last six months.
- Relationship Certificate (if applying as the son of a serving soldier, ex-serviceman, or war widow) issued by the Record Office, including:
- An affidavit on ten rupees non-judicial stamp paper, signed by 1st Class/Executive/Judicial Magistrate.
- Original Discharge Book of the ex-serviceman, with the Name and Date of Birth recorded.
- An affidavit on ten rupees non-judicial stamp paper, signed by 1st Class/Executive/Judicial Magistrate.
- Sports Certificates issued by National/State Sports Authorities or Government Bodies of the specific sport (for International/State/National level achievements, or up to 4th position in State level teams/State School teams).
