The State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam has released multiple recruitment notifications for the recruitment of 5,563 vacancies across various departments, including Assam Police, APRO, Assam Commando Battalions, DGCD & CGHG, Prison Department, and the Directorate of Forensic Science. The online application process for these posts was completed from October 5 to November 1, 2023.
Next, the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) are scheduled to begin from October 3, 2024. Candidates who successfully submitted their applications can now download their Admit Cards for the upcoming tests.

Selection Process of Assam Police Recruitment
The selection process for Assam Police Recruitment includes several stages, as outlined below:
1. Preliminary Verification of Documents
Before appearing for the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), candidates’ original documents will be verified. A set of photocopies of documents must also be submitted. Any candidate found with incorrect or forged documents will be disqualified from the recruitment process.
2. Physical Standard Test (PST)
- No marks are awarded for PST, but it is a mandatory stage.
- The test will involve measurement of the candidate’s height, weight, and chest (for male candidates only).
- Additional physical checks will be done for conditions like knock knee, vision, color blindness, flat foot, varicose veins, etc.
- Candidates who pass the PST will move on to the next stage: the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
The PET will include the following events:
- Race:
- Male: 3,200 meters in 14 minutes
- Female: 1,600 meters in 8 minutes
- Long Jump:
- Male: 335 cm (3 attempts)
- Female: 244 cm (3 attempts)
- Chin-ups (Male candidates only):
- 4 chin-ups: 10 marks
- 5 chin-ups: 11 marks
- 6 chin-ups: 12 marks
- Continue until 14 chin-ups, which earn 20 marks.
Candidates will be disqualified if they fail to meet the minimum criteria in any of the events during the PST/PET.
4. Written Test
- The written exam will consist of 100 multiple choice questions.
- Total Marks: 50 (no negative marking).

- The exam will cover the following subjects:
- Elementary Arithmetic
- General English
- Logical Reasoning/Mental Ability
- History, Geography, Polity, and Economy of Assam
- General Awareness/Current Affairs
The written test will be conducted in Assamese, Bodo, Bengali, and English languages.
5. Merit List
After the completion of PST and PET, merit lists will be prepared based on the marks scored in the PET (converted into percentage). Candidates who qualify the PET will be called for the written test in the order of merit, with a ratio of 5 candidates per post.
