The State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam has released multiple employment notifications for the recruitment of 5,563 posts across various departments, including Assam Police, APRO, Assam Commando Battalions, DGCD & CGHG, Prison Department, and the Directorate of Forensic Science. The online application process for these posts was conducted from 5th October to 1st November 2023.

With the application process now complete, the Physical Standard Test (PST) & Trade Proficiency Test (TPT) for Grade IV Staff and Safai Karmachari will begin on 5th February 2025, marking the start of the Assam Police recruitment selection process.

Assam Police Admit Card – PST & PET Dates

The PST & PET for SI (UB), SI (Communication), and SI (AB) will take place at 4th Assam Police Battalion, Kahilipara, Guwahati-781019, starting from 17th March 2025. The details are as follows:

  • 144 posts of Sub Inspector (UB) in Assam Police.
  • 7 posts of Sub Inspector (Communication) in APRO.
  • 51 posts of Sub Inspector (AB) for Assam Commando Battalions.
  • 1 post of Assistant Deputy Controller, Civil Defence (Jr.) under DGCD & CGHG, Assam.

Candidates who have qualified for SI (UB) or SI (Communication) and SI (AB) need to download separate admit cards for each post.

How to Download Assam Police Admit Card?

Candidates who have applied online can follow these steps to download their Assam Police Admit Card:

  1. Scroll down and go to the Important Web Links section.
  2. Click on the “Assam Police Admit Card” link.
  3. Enter your Application Number, Name, and Date of Birth (YYYY-MM-DD).
  4. Click on the Download button.
  5. Your admit card will be displayed. Save or print a copy for future reference.

Note: Candidates must bring a hard copy of their admit card along with a valid Photo ID (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, etc.) to appear for the written examination. All instructions mentioned on the admit card must be followed strictly.

Selection Process of Assam Police Recruitment


In this section, we will explain about the selection process of Assam Police Constable Recruitment; for other posts, candidates are requested to go through the official advertisements. Candidates submitting correct online applications in all respect will have to undergo the Physical Standards Tests (PST) and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET). Any Candidate with any physical deformity as may be detected by the Medical Officer present in the Selection Committee, he/ she will be debarred from participating in the rest of the tests.

Preliminary Verification of Documents


Before the candidate is allowed to appear in the PST and PET on the basis of the eligibility criteria set out above, all the original documents and a set of Photostat copies of the documents shall be checked. Rejected applicants will receive a notice of rejection, stating the reason for their refusal. At any stage, the candidate shall be disqualified and may be liable to criminal prosecution if he submits any incorrect information or forged documents.

At any later stage of the recruitment process, a candidate’s original documents may also be checked. Candidates shall have to provide a duly attested copy of any photostat they submit. At the time of PST & PET each copy of such document, especially caste certificates and any other documents with marks shall be signed by the Chairman or member of the Selection Board in order to avoid manipulation at a later stage. 

Physical Standard Test


Once all the documents found correct, the Candidates will have to appear in the PST (Physical Standard Test). It carries no marks. PST consists of measurement of the height, weight & chest ( chest measuring only male) of candidates using latest technology and after which preliminary check-ups like knock knee, vision test, colour blindness test, flat foot, varicose vein, physical deformities etc will also be done. Once a Candidate clears the PST, next he/she will have to appear in the PET (Physical Efficiency Test).

# A Candidate gets eliminated from the recruitment process as soon as he/she fails to qualify in any event during PST or PET.

# Candidates shall have no claim or right to appear in the Written Test merely on the ground that they secured the minimum qualifying standards in the PST and PET.

# After completion of the PST and PET for all the Candidates, merit lists for each category as per vacancies will be prepared on the basis of the total marks scored on PET converting it into percentage.

# Candidates will be called for the Written Test in order of merit at the rate of 5 (five) times the number of posts allotted in respect of each category.

Written Test 

Written test will consist of 100 multiple choice type questions to be answered on an OMR answer sheet. For each correct answer the Candidate will get half mark. Questions will be of the level of class IX and X .Total marks for the Written Test will be 50. There will be no negative marking. The question paper for Written Exam will be in the following languages: Assamese/ Bodo/ Bengali/English.
