DEE LP UP Teacher Recruitment 2025: Notification Overview

The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam, invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam for the recruitment of 4500 Assistant Teacher posts in Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) schools. Candidates qualified in the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) or Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) can apply online for these positions.

• Lower Primary (LP): 2900 posts
• Upper Primary (UP): 1600 posts

Pay Scale: Pay Band – 2 (PB-2) ₹14,000 – ₹70,000 plus Grade Pay and allowances as per “The Assam Service (Revision of Pay) (Amendment) Rules, 2019.”
District-wise Breakup: Details regarding district-wise, medium-wise, and category-wise reservation will be announced in due course.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality:

• The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.

2. Age Limit (as of 1st January 2025):

• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum: 40 years
• Relaxations:
  • Ex-Servicemen: 2 years
  • OBC/MOBC: 3 years
  • SC/ST (P)/ST (H): 5 years
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 10 years

3. Small Family Norms:

• Candidates with more than two living children on or after 1st January 2021 (from single or multiple partners) are ineligible, as per government policy.

4. Medium of Instruction:

• For both ATET and CTET-qualified candidates, either Language-I or Language-II must align with the medium of instruction of the school for which they are applying.

5. ATET/CTET Qualification:

• Candidates must have passed ATET/CTET for Lower Primary or Upper Primary levels.

6. Educational Qualifications:

• Assistant Teacher (LP):
  • Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks.
  • 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
  • ATET/CTET qualification for Lower Primary level.
• Assistant Teacher (UP):
  • Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary with graduation from a UGC-recognized university.
  • 2-year D.El.Ed or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)/Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • ATET/CTET qualification for Upper Primary level.
• Science Teacher (UP):
  • Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary with B.Sc. from a UGC-recognized university.
  • 2-year D.El.Ed or B.Ed/B.El.Ed.
  • ATET/CTET qualification for Upper Primary level.
• Hindi Teacher (UP):
  • Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary with graduation in Hindi from a UGC-recognized university.
  • 2-year D.El.Ed or B.Ed/B.El.Ed.
  • ATET/CTET qualification for Upper Primary level.
