The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced the recruitment for AFCAT (01/2025) for various branches. The vacancies are available for Flying Branch, Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches, and NCC Special Entry for courses commencing in January 2026.
Indian Air Force AFCAT Recruitment Details
1. AFCAT Entry
- Flying Branch: 30 posts
- Ground Duty (Technical): 189 posts
- Ground Duty (Non-Technical): 117 posts
2. NCC Special Entry
- Flying Branch: 10% seats out of CDSE vacancies for PC and 10% seats out of AFCAT vacancies for SSC.
Eligibility Criteria for Indian Air Force Recruitment
Age Limit:
- Flying Branch:
- 20 to 24 years as on 01 January 2025 (born between 02 January 2002 to 01 January 2006).
- Upper age limit for candidates holding a valid Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years (born between 02 January 2000 to 01 January 2006).
- Ground Duty (Technical/ Non-Technical):
- 20 to 26 years as on 01 January 2026 (born between 02 January 2000 to 01 January 2006).
Marital Status:
- Candidates must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course. Marriage is not permitted during training.
Educational Qualifications
Flying Branch:
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 with 60% marks each in Mathematics and Physics, and one of the following:
- Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in any discipline.
- BE/B.Tech (4-year course) with 60% marks or equivalent.
- Candidates who cleared Section A & B examination of the Institution of Engineers or Aeronautical Society of India.
- Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in any discipline.
Ground Duty (Technical) Branch:
- Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics):
- 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics, and a 4-year Engineering/Technology degree in specified disciplines with 60% marks or equivalent.
- 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics, and a 4-year Engineering/Technology degree in specified disciplines with 60% marks or equivalent.
- Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical):
- 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics, and a 4-year Engineering/Technology degree in specified disciplines with 60% marks or equivalent.
Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch:
- Weapon Systems (WS), Administration & Logistics, Accounts Branch, Education, and Meteorology: Educational requirements vary based on the branch. Refer to the official notification for detailed qualifications.

- Registration: Click on “New Registration” and complete the registration process.
- Login: After registration, log in and fill in your personal, educational details, and upload the necessary documents.
