Eligibility Criteria for NIACL Assistant Recruitment

  • Age Limit:
    • Candidates must be between 21 to 30 years as of 1st December 2024.
  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC-NCL: 3 years
    • PwBD: 10 years
  • Educational Qualification:
    • Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
    • Candidate must have passed English as one of the subjects at SSC/HSC/Intermediate/Graduation level.
    • Proof of passing the qualifying examination must be provided as on 01/12/2024.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • Candidates must be proficient in the Regional Language of the State/UT against which they are applying.
    • A Language Test will be conducted to assess the proficiency in the Regional Language. Candidates who fail the language test will be disqualified.

Selection Process of New India Assurance Assistant Recruitment

The selection process for New India Assurance Assistant Recruitment consists of three main stages:


Tier I: Preliminary Examination

  • Mode: Online
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Structure: The Preliminary Exam consists of three sections, each with a 20-minute time limit:
    • Test of English Language: 30 marks
    • Test of Reasoning: 35 marks
    • Test of Numerical Ability: 35 marks

Note: There will be negative marking for wrong answers, with 1/4th of the marks deducted for each incorrect response.

  • Exam Centers in Assam:
    • Dibrugarh
    • Guwahati
    • Jorhat
    • Silchar
    • Tezpur

Tier II: Main Examination

  • Mode: Online
  • Duration: Approximately 2 hours (separate time for each section or composite time)
  • Total Marks: 250
  • Sections:
    • Test of Reasoning: 50 marks
    • Test of English Language: 50 marks
    • Test of General Awareness: 50 marks
    • Test of Numerical Ability: 50 marks
    • Computer Knowledge: 50 marks

Note: Negative marking applies here as well. 1/4th of the marks for each incorrect answer will be deducted.

  • Exam Center in Assam:
    • Guwahati

Tier III: Regional Language Test

  • Purpose: To test proficiency in the local/regional language.
  • Who Needs to Appear:
    • Candidates applying for vacancies outside their domiciled state/UT must appear for the Regional Language Test of the state/UT they are applying to.
  • Nature of the Test: Qualifying only (no marks are awarded).
  • Criteria: Candidates must pass this test to be considered for final selection. It will not contribute to the final marks but is mandatory for final selection.

Note: The scores obtained in the Main Examination will be used for final ranking, provided the candidate qualifies in the Regional Language Test.


Final Selection:

  • The final merit list will be based on the marks obtained in the Main Examination, subject to the candidate qualifying the Regional Language Test.
  • Candidates who score sufficiently high in the merit list will be shortlisted for the final recruitment process.
