RRB Recruitment Selection Process

The selection process for RRB Ministerial & Isolated Categories posts consists of multiple stages, including a Single Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT), Performance Test/Teaching Skill Test, Translation Test (if applicable), Document Verification (DV), and Medical Examination.

Computer-Based Test (CBT)

  • Exam Name: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  • Exam Date: To be announced
  • Mode of Exam: Online (CBT)
  • Duration:
    • 90 minutes (for most candidates)
    • 120 minutes (for PwBD candidates availing the Scribe facility)
  • Total Questions: 100 (Multiple Choice Questions)
  • Question Standard: The level of questions will be based on the prescribed educational qualifications for the respective posts.
  • Negative Marking: 1/3rd marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks:
    • UR & EWS: 40%
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 30%
    • SC: 30%
    • ST: 25%
    • PwBD Candidates: A relaxation of 2% in the qualifying marks may be given if there is a shortage of PwBD candidates for reserved vacancies.
  • Normalization of Scores: Normalized marks will be used for shortlisting candidates for further stages, including Performance Test/Teaching Skill Test, Translation Test, and Document Verification.
